Join me, Jeff Parker, for this fabulous bat and bird photography workshop and tour in southeast Arizona. On this unique photography tour you will get the chance to photograph rare birds that are not seen anywhere else in the USA.
LIMITED to eight (8) ~ Includes lodging and most meals.
The photo tour will start with a trip to the mountains in Arizona’s Madera Canyon where I’ll provide multi-flash set-ups & any hands-on help desired so you can photograph hummingbirds to your heart’s content.
Following on, we’ll enter some specially made photography hides created by a wildlife photographer for wildlife photographers.
Your tour includes three (3) nights at the Santa Rita Lodge, plus two (2) additional nights at a nice B&B. Both lodges feed birds year-round so you’ll have ready subjects close at hand.
In addition to lots of shooting while at Santa Rita Lodge, your tour also includes four (4) photoshoots and a nighttime bat shoot at the private photography hides. At this photographer-friendly site, the owner keeps photo hides, perches, water features, feeding stations, and set-ups in place year-round thus ensuring the birds have become used to them.
In the past, we’ve had a lot of good luck photographing the colourful Elegant Trogon during the tour. In addition, we typically see Painted Redstarts. While the flitty Redstart is tough to photograph, during my last tour here someone got a good shot of one. We’ll also keep an eye out for other southeastern Arizona specialties such as gila monsters, ringtails and coatis.
