Bavaria & Austria Smartphone Photography Tour

The improvement of smartphone cameras has drastically changed travel photography -and the phone camera is now globally used by beginner and professional photographers alike. It is a great and convenient tool for sharing our pictures with the rest of the world in realtime; it is small in size, portable, more discreet and less intimidating than a large camera.

Our tour will start at the Hilton hotel inside the Munich airport with a late afternoon meet and greet session. After breakfast the following morning, we will start our journey to Berchtesgaden, a picturesque town in the Bavarian Alps close to the Austrian border. This will be our home base for the next four nights. Among cascading waterfalls, impressive gorges, and spectacular mountaineering villages, we will embark on a boat ride to photograph Lake Königssee. The lake is deeply nestled between towering cliffs with emerald green waters located at the foot of the imposing Watzmann – this fabulous location is in the heart of the Berchtesgaden National Park and is one of the most stunning places to visit in Germany. Another highlight will be the area of Hintersee and Ramsau; both regions are among the most scenic in the Bavarian Alps. Artists and novelists discovered both sites in the 1800s and, later, film-makers chose this area as an idyllic setting for alpine majesty and pastoral romance.

A focal point of our journey will be our excursions to Austria. During our day trip to Salzburg we will stroll through the charming old town and join a guided tour to learn about the rich history of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birthplace. Austria’s picturesque fairytale town Hallstatt and the romantic Wolfgangsee are two exciting stops on our photographic exploration. Lush green meadows, managed alpine pastures, magnificent views and charming old buildings invite us to enjoy nature and take fabulous scenic shots.
