Explore New Zealand’s South Island in autumn on a nine-day photography tour with landscape photographer Richard Hume, travelling with a small group of no more than six photographers.
Beginning and ending in Queenstown, we journey through Lake Tekapo and the Mackenzie Basin, Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, Wānaka, Mount Aspiring National Park and Fiordland, including Milford Sound.
Autumn offers opportunities to photograph golden foliage, mountain reflections, glacial lakes and misty valleys, alongside the waterfalls and native forests of Fiordland. We explore both well-known locations and quieter places, taking time to discover compositions that reflect your own way of seeing.
Days are structured around the light, with early starts and evening photography. The itinerary stays flexible so we can respond to weather, revisit promising locations and work each scene without rushing.
Richard provides practical on-location tuition in composition, exposure, reading light, long exposures and using filters. Whether you want to build confidence or refine your creative approach, guidance is tailored to your experience.
Accommodation in your own room, transport during the tour and photography tuition are included.
