- 5-Day Jurassic Coast Adventure
Join photographer Ian Middleton for an immersive 5-day, 4-night photography workshop along Dorset’s stunning Jurassic Coast. This remarkable stretch of coastline—spanning Dorset and Devon—earned UNESCO World Heritage status for its extraordinary geological record, preserving 185 million years of Earth’s history in its dramatic cliffs and beaches. Throughout the year, this coastline offers exceptional photographic opportunities.
During this workshop, you’ll capture some of the Jurassic Coast’s most iconic locations. Frame the magnificent Durdle Door rock arch rising from its shimmering pebble beach. Photograph Portland Bill’s lighthouse and Pulpit Rock as waves crash against the promontory. At Kimmeridge’s crescent bay, shoot the receding tide as it unveils intricate rock formations. Rise early to capture the spectacular white chalk cliffs of Old Harry—rivaling the famous White Cliffs of Dover—and explore the charming beach and piers of Swanage.
Autumn brings particular magic to the Dorset coast. The warm ground meeting cooler nights creates ideal conditions for early morning mist—perfect for atmospheric shots of locations like Corfe Castle. The sun’s southern trajectory during this season delivers rich golden hour light that accentuates the coast’s rugged beauty.
The workshop begins Sunday afternoon after check-in, with the first photography session that same day. The final shoot takes place at sunrise on Thursday. Accommodation is provided through Thursday, with options to extend your stay if desired.
