Dramatic North Cornwall – 3 day Photography Workshop

North Cornwall’s wild and rugged coastline is often considered to be one of the most beautiful in the British Isles and so it’s hardly surprising that landscape photographers from far and wide are drawn to Cornwall for photography. It is a stunning region, home to many areas of outstanding natural beauty, and full of photographic opportunities. With its wonderful sandy coves, spectacular panoramic views, and crashing Atlantic waves, the North Cornish Coastline is a popular destination, but at this time of year, much quieter. The light too, at this time is softer and can be very dramatic, lending itself to some fabulous sunsets. Together we will explore some of the finest locations in the area including the photogenic harbour at Boscastle, the fascinating geology at nearby Crackington Haven and the incredible rock stacks and panoramic views at Bedruthen Steps, where we can also enjoy the many photographic opportunities the beach has to offer. We will also photograph the lighthouse at Trevose Head and spend time at lesser known Porthcothan, home to a number of interesting rock formations. Trebarwith Strand with its vast cliffs, fine golden sand and the much photographed Gull rock, is another location we hope to visit. If time allows, we will also venture inland to the magical Golithia Falls; a series of spectacular cascades running through a steep-sided, ancient, wooded valley on the upper reaches of the River Fowey. Our base here will be charming The Old Mill House; a 16th century former Corn Mill situated in the pretty hamlet of Little Petherick. Just minutes from Padstow, it is ideally located to allow us to explore this fabulous part of Cornwall and get the most out of this 3-day photography workshop.
