- Dutch Windmills & Tulips Photography Workshop
The Dutch Windmills & Tulips Photography Workshop is a carefully crafted four-day photography experience designed to help you capture the Netherlands at its most atmospheric and photogenic. Timed precisely for peak tulip bloom, this workshop combines iconic windmill landscapes, vibrant spring colour, and the soft cinematic light of sunrise and sunset.
This is not a rushed tour, but a small-group, hands-on photography workshop focused on learning, creativity, and building a strong portfolio.
One of the unique strengths of this workshop is true local knowledge. Your guide René was born and raised in the Netherlands and knows these landscapes deeply — where the light falls best, when mist forms around the windmills, and how to position ourselves for the most powerful compositions. This allows us to be in the right place, at the right time, in the right light.
During the workshop, you will photograph:
– The historic windmills of Zaanse Schans
– Endless colourful rows of Dutch tulip fields
– The world-famous UNESCO windmills of Kinderdijk
Each location offers a completely different mood, light, and storytelling opportunities — from peaceful misty mornings to glowing golden-hour colour.
Over the four days, you will receive daily in-field coaching and image review sessions to help you improve composition, exposure, creative vision, and consistency in your photography. Whether you are an enthusiastic beginner or an experienced photographer refining your style, the workshop is designed to support your growth while creating unforgettable images.
The experience includes accommodation, transport within the Netherlands, sunrise and sunset shoots, and full photographic guidance by three professional photography instructors: Jakub Bors, René Siebring, and Hannes Koening.
This workshop takes place during the short annual tulip bloom window, making it a rare and highly photographic moment in the Dutch landscape.
