Lake District – 3-day photography workshop

The Lake District is famous for its beautiful lakes and spectacular mountain scenery, and is the perfect place for a photography workshop. Its wild and untamed landscape inspired the poetry and writings of the early 19th century romantic Lakeland poets, William Wordsworth amongst them, who were so enthralled by its epic grandeur that they sought to capture its beauty in words. This compact National Park is a mere 35 miles across, yet its iconic landscape contains England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, and also her deepest and longest lakes. The variety of scenery in this breathtaking region is unrivalled and offers extraordinary possibilities for image making. From mystical Castlerigg Stone Circle sheltered beneath Blencathra, to the lovely wooded shore of Rydal Water, an abundance of delightful tumbling streams and woodland waterfalls, to mist and early morning reflections in tranquil Derwent Water. Suitable for all abilities, this photography workshop presents us with numerous opportunities to capture on camera something of the majestic beauty of the Lake District. We will help you to make the best use of your camera, as well as mastering exposure, composition and learning how to work with the available light. You will also be able to experiment with long exposures with the use of filters and we will have a selection of Kase filters on hand for you to try, including graduated filters and ND filters to enable you to try some long exposures on the water. There will be the chance to receive constructive feedback on your images in our group critique sessions, plus plenty of time for ‘photography talk’ over dinner at one of the friendly pubs in Keswick. This is a great opportunity to spend a few days with like-minded people, immersed in photography in one of the most beautiful regions of the British Isles
