Join New Zealand landscape photographer Richard Hume for nine days exploring the South Island in spring, with a small group of no more than six photographers.
Beginning and ending in Queenstown, we travel through Lake Tekapo and the Mackenzie Basin, Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, Wānaka, Mount Aspiring National Park and Fiordland, including Milford Sound.
Photograph snow-capped mountains, glacial lakes, braided rivers, waterfalls and native forest. Spring brings changing light and weather, with opportunities to capture both expansive landscapes and quieter details.
Days are planned around the light, with early starts, evening photography and time to explore each location without rushing. The itinerary remains flexible so we can respond to conditions and revisit promising scenes.
Throughout the tour, Richard provides practical guidance on composition, exposure, reading light, long exposures and using filters. The emphasis is on developing your confidence and creative approach while making photographs that reflect your own way of seeing.
Accommodation in your own room, transport during the tour and photography tuition are included.
