- Grey Seal Pups Photography Workshop – Norfolk Coast
Join UK Photo Tours for five days on the Norfolk coast, photographing one of the UK’s great wildlife spectacles: over 5,000 newborn grey seal pups born each year along this stretch of coastline. Led by professional photographer Dion Hitchcock, our small group (max 5 to 6 photographers) visits multiple seal beaches at different times of day, always at a safe, respectful distance, for a rich variety of light and behaviour: nursing pups, playful juveniles and protective mothers.
The tour includes four nights in a comfortable self-catering cottage (own room), complimentary return transport from London if required, all local transport, full photography tuition, and the use of Dion’s supplementary telephoto lenses and camera bodies if you need them. Norfolk’s windmills and lighthouses add dramatic landscape opportunities at sunset, and the December departure coincides with a meteor shower.
This tour is easy to moderate in fitness terms and welcomes all abilities, including solo travellers. Two departures run in November and December 2026, from £1,295pp, and every booking is 100% financially protected.
You’ll learn how to photograph wildlife responsibly at a safe distance using telephoto lenses, how to read seal behaviour and anticipate the best moments, and how to handle exposure and composition in low winter light. Tuition is tailored to your ability, from complete beginners to experienced photographers, working across multiple beach locations for a varied portfolio.
Included: return transport from London, 4 nights self-catering cottage accommodation (own room; en-suite +£200), all local transport, full photography tuition from Dion, use of supplementary telephoto lenses and camera bodies, and multiple seal beach sessions.
Not included: meals (self-catering cottage, supermarket stops when needed + dining out).
Itinerary: Day 1, travel to Norfolk with a possible bonus afternoon session. Days 2 to 4, full days photographing seal colonies across multiple beaches, plus sunset sessions at Norfolk’s windmills and lighthouses. Day 5, return to London. The December departure includes a bonus meteor shower opportunity.
